What was the name of the ball in the 1982 world cup finals?
The ball in the world cup finals of 1982 was called the Tango Espana. It was made by Adidas and had rubber inlaid over the seams to prevent water from seeping through, which made it he first ball with water-resistant qualities. It didnt stay water resistant for long, as we found out after kicking one around the park for a couple of weeks! There were a whole range of Tango balls for different surfaces and conditions, and in a few different colours. The top of the range balls were called Tango Mundial, so this was the one likely to be used in the World Cup. It was the last genuine leather ball used in the world cup, and the design was a slight variation on the 1978 world cup ball, an all time classic.
