What was the motivation behind naming the group the Dubuque Phlockers?
• Originally, the group was on its way to being called the Dubuque Area Parrot Head Club but that was simply too much to say (that, and we were being accused of being a run-on sentence). Another name candidate was the Tri-State Phlockers. After musing over some beverages of choice, we wanted something short and something that would also affiliate us to the “Center of Activity” for our organization (Dubuque). Being the simplistic group we are, we decided to adopt the best of both names. The result was the Dubuque Phlockers.
