The agency said the earthquake was at a depth of just 10 kilometers and centered about 130 kilometers north of the coastal city of La Ceiba. Authorities said the dead included a 15-year-old boy who was killed when a home collapsed in La Lima, Honduras. The quake caused damage to buildings in a number of towns.
