What was the leading events that caused World War Two?
Hitler built up the German military and became more and more aggressive. First he took over Austria, which was Germanic and didn’t seem to mind being reunited with Germany. Then he took over the Suduten lands, which were part of Checkoslovakia but were culturally Germanic (and therefore justified in Hitler’s mind). This was a violation of the treaties with England and France, but they chose not to go to war at the time since Germany was clearly very powerful and they didn’t want another world war. Then Hitler and Stalin made a secret agreement to jointly invade Poland and the other eastern european nations and basically split up the territories for themselves. When they invaded Poland it became clear to England and France that Hitler wasn’t going to be appeased, so war was declared. Later on Stalin and Hitler had a falling out and Stalin switched sides, but make no mistake, he was just as guilty as Hitler for starting WW2. Therefore it can be argued that the USSR was the real winner of
The fundamental reasons for WW11 were the same as such wars are always based upon and that is simply WEALTH, POWER,NATIONALISM,GREED and a sense that a country has a “manifest destiny”. There of course were “non-fundamental” reasons for the war such as humiliation of Germans after WW1,a devistated economy etc but these were ultimately just the “excuse” ,”rationale” to wage war . Needless to say that the US’s long history of atrocities (including their most recent crime against humanity in Iraq which was/is an ILLEGAL war of choice all based upon a pack of filthy deliberate lies that has seen the slaughter of some 4000 US serve people plus over 400,000 innocent Iraqi civilians ),is based upon exactly the same fundamentals that drove the nazis which again are WEALTH POWER NATIONALISM and GREED .all wrapped up in a vile euphemism called “NATIONAL INTERESTS” which of course is exactly what the Nazis claimed their actions were all about.
It depends on how you want to count. In general, it could be chalked up to the winners of World War I want lots of reparations, which forced Germany and Italy into recession and unrest, which made it easy for demagogues like Hitler and Mussolini to take power. It was also helped by weak Western leaders like Chamberlin who tried to appease Hitler by giving him lots of concessions. Keep in mind that US was still suffering from the Great Depression and is still in an isolationist mood. As for the Asian side, Japan has always wanted an empire of its own, and has invaded China MANY years prior to Hitler attacking Poland and Pearl Harbor. Their defeat of Russian navy have really gone to their head, making them think they are invincible. Invasion of Mongolia by Japan in 1931 is commonly viewed by China as the start of the war, and attack by Japan in 1937 of actual Chinese territory did not help matters. The actual event that started WW2… most consider the German attack of Poland to be the s
Commonly held general causes for WWII are the rise of nationalism, the rise of militarism, and the presence of unresolved territorial issues. In Germany, resentment of the harsh Treaty of Versailles, specifically article 231 (the “Guilt Clause”); the belief in the Dolchstosslegende; and the onset of the Great Depression fueled the rise to power of Adolf Hitler’s militarist National Socialist German Workers Party (the Nazi Party). Meanwhile the treaty’s provisions were laxly enforced, due to the fear of another war. Closely related is the failure of the British and French policy of appeasement, which sought to avoid war but actually gave Hitler time to re-arm. The League of Nations also failed in its mission of preventing war. Japan in the 1930s was ruled by a militarist clique devoted to Japan’s becoming a world power. Japan invaded China to bolster its meager stock of natural resources. This angered the United States, which reacted by making loans to China, providing covert military a
You could make a strong argument that the seeds of world war II were sown on the last day of world war I. the huge reparations demanded of Germany by U.K. and in particular France caused immense pressure on its economy and lead to resentment that was heightened and manipulated by the nazi moment during the depression. You would be waiting a very long time for a movement as extreme as the nazi party to gain power in an affluent successful economy (there are no jihadists in Bellair or rodeo drive). The victorious powers have to take some responsibility in their rise to power and subsequent outbreak of hostilities. Also the pacific aspect of WW2 could be traced back even further to the mid to late 19th century as up until then Japan’s was in self imposed exile from the rest of the world when the western powers forced Japan to open up, this Japan did and indeed exiled in its embrace of industrialization and western ways, which lead to a huge hunger for raw materials which Japan is short of
