What Was The Last Book That Maya Angelou Wrote?
Maya Angelou’s last book was her fifth Autobiography called “All God’s children need travelling shoes”. This particular book shows that she still had a great connection to her past in Africa. Her last book has been dedicated to Malcolm X and Julian Mayfield. Maya felt a great sense of unity with these two individuals as they too, like herself, were desperately in search of a homeland that would be symbolic of themselves. Maya visited Ghana while she was writing this book and fell the sense of belongingness that see was looking for. She was enchanted by the great beauty of this nation and made it her homeland. The other four books written by her are also autobiographies which are closely connected to her life, these are The Heart of a Women, Singin’ and Swingin’ and Gettin’ Merry like Christmas and Gather Together in my Name.
