Crow Canyon Archaeological Center is teaming up with Mesa Verde National Park as part of the Centers ongoing research into the long-term (A.D. 6001300) interaction between Pueblo Indians and their environment. The Mesa Verde Village Assessment Project (MVVAP) builds on an earlier study called the Village Ecodynamics Project (VEP), a multidisciplinary and multi-institutional effort that examined Pueblo Indian settlement patterns on the Great Sage Plain, a vast expanse of rolling uplands that for 25 years has been the focus of Crow Canyons research in the Four Corners area.
