What was the inspiration to hold Summer Streets?
A. Last year the city tested the events to see if the communities enjoyed them. As a result, the city received numerous requests to combine Celebrate Seattle Summer Streets with other activities occurring in their neighborhoods. To ensure everything runs smoothly for this years expanded festivities, we are working with all city departments including fire, police, parks and external organizations like Metro.
