What was the Golden Aurealis Award and what happened to it?
From 2004-2007, the Aurealis Awards included a “Best of” division known as the Golden Aurealis Awards, which recognised the best novel and best short story across all shortlisted works in each year. The Golden Aurealis Awards have now been rescinded. In their place we have introduced two new divisions – anthology/collection and illustrated book/graphic novel. We believe this better reflects the kind of works being published today within the genre.
