You are mistaken it was in fact the Hungarian flag which may look similar. The flag of Hungary is a horizontal tricolour of “red”, white and green, as opposed to the flag of India which is also horizontal tricolour but of “saffron”, white and green. Notably the other difference is the omission of the Ashoka Chakra symbol, i.e. the wheel of righteousness (Dharma).
