SABC or South African Broadcasting Corporation is the national broadcaster in South Africa. Since South Africa’s Independence, SABC has been involved in communicating new order to the country and helping the country transform into a true democracy. Over the years, SABC has changed itself from being a state broadcaster to a national broadcaster. In 1993 SABC got its first board that was appointed democratically. The board was lead by Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri who was also instrumental in total restructuring of SABC. In 1994 SABC got its first black Group Chief Executive Officer, Zwelakhe Sisulu. In the same year, SABC became a legitimate institution after it took on to itself to deliver valuable programs to the community.
