missy, if this were september, i’d think i was doing your ‘homework’ for you. in my opinion, the most important question to be decided by the Allies after WWII was what to do with Japan and Germany. Should they be punished? Should they be made to pay reparations for starting the war? Should their land be taken? Should they be allowed to have armies again? What kind of government should the two countries have? These were important questions, as the harsh terms of the Treaty of Versailles which ended WWI are what allowed Hitler to come to power. Under the Treaty of Versailles, Germany was forced to pay reparations to the rest of Europe and was forbidden to have a standing army. They were also limited in the amount of self-governing they could have. Harsh terms like these left Germany impoverished and the people barely able to sustain life.
