What was the first Catholic hymn written after Vatican II?

0

Prior to Vatican II the Catholic hyms consisted of classic hymns such as the Ave Maria, Hail Holy Queen, etc. There were hundreds of these hymns, and they are still used today. The Gregorian chants were limited to High Mass. The first “folk” songs began to appear while Vatican II was still going on. Some of these were “Here we are, altogether”, and “Sons of God”. Many of these early songs were combined in Mass with popular folk songs such as “Blown in the Wind”.
