What was the computationally largest machine that Cray made ?
In 1998 the biggest machine was a 1480 CPU T3e assembled by Cray and released to a small community of scientists in December of that year. This machine was subsequently delivered to an undisclosed customer. The design at that time would have scaled up to 2176 Cpus before hitting node addressing limits. The “Guinness World records 2000” has the Cray C90/16 as the fastest general purpose vector-parallel computer but we all know this should be updated to the T90/32.
