What was the Cherokee Nation vs the state of Georgia case about?

0

Georgia wanted the Cherokee Nation land so they could get to the gold and build towns. The Cherokee Nation wanted some of the ways of the Whites but not all. They digging of gold and taking down trees and things were like killing the Earth for no reason. The whites started feeling like they had more right to the land so they forced them out and the Nation tried to fight it in court but they lost and the Cherokee’s were forced to move west to what was called “Indian Territory”. That is where the trail of tears came about.
