What was the Burke and Wills expedition? How many men completed it?
The Burke and Wills expedition of 1860-61, (Victorian Exploring Expedition) was the first organized group of Europeans to cross Australia, from Melbourne to the Gulf of Carpentaria. The party of 16-20, consisted of the primaries: Robert Burke, William Wills, Charles Gray, William Brahe, and John King.
