What was the best time period for hockey?
For me actually watching, I’d have to say from the 1992-93 season to the 1998-99 season. During this period of time I feel the number of teams in the league was fine and that the play was excellent (except for maybe a little too much scoring in 1992-93 and that whole “crease” issue in 1998-99). Plus, my favorite player of all-time, Dominik Hasek, dominated the league during this time period and provided my Sabres with a Stanley Cup! Ok, maybe not, but close enough… As for time period that I didn’t watch, or watched very little, I’d have to say the 80’s. Watching Gretzky in his prime must have been some awesome stuff and I can’t quite remember any of it (I was 6 years old when he got traded to LA). For some reason however, I do remember quite clearly when the Calgary Flames won the cup. Odd…
