What was the best aspect of illustrating Spiderman and Wolverines first meeting in the Ultimate universe?
The best part is the fresh quality of such an initial encounter. This is what attracted me to the Ultimate books in the first place. Although I dig superhero comics (as well as all other sorts), I’m not what you’d call a continuity aficionado. The need to consider the vast sum of stories that had gone before is one of the main factors that has held me back from working for either Marvel or DC very much in the past. With this Ultimate set-up, we’re free to pick and choose the parts of comics history that we like and ignore the parts we don’t (can you say clone?). Even though I didn’t write this story, this was a definite consideration for my involvement in drawing it. Any other projects you have planned at Marvel and/or DC?
