What was Rosie the Riveter role in world war 2?
The thousands (millions) of women (Rosie the Riveters) replaced the manpower shortage that was created in American industry (the war effort) because of the men leaving for the service. The posters created were a great morale builder (We can do it!). It also gave women a real sense of purpose, knowing that they were not only keeping the home fires burning, but helping their loved ones to win the war and return home.
