Cowboy Mach Bell: It was extremely fast-paced, challenging and, for me, totally unexpected. After two attempts to get the Joe Perry Project off the ground with talented, high pedigree players Perry tried a very different approach. Basically he went to the rock and roll dog pound and found himself some hungry mutts. I had pretty much retired from the music scene after many years of struggling and starving. I had finally thrown in the towel and taken a day job. One day the phone rang, and the next I found myself in the spotlight, singing next to one of the most famous guitar players in the business. Joe was willing to overlook my lack of experience, and (many said) talent, in favor of my enthusiasm and total commitment. Then there was the money, or should I say lack of it.
