Exactly 70 years ago World War II had just started. It was a difficult and dangerous time for many people in the world. In Britain many children were evacuated from big cities and sent to live with strangers in the countryside. Life was very different for children 70 years ago. They didn’t have all the toys, television and games you have today. In this WebQuest you will find out: What life was like for these children. How their lives were affected by World War II. How they spent their free time. You will also revise: How to write an informal (friendly)letter. You will work in groups of 3. In each group there will be the following roles: • Head researcher • Time-keeper • Scribe However, each group member will be expected to do each role at various stages throughout the WebQuest.
