What was it like to race against Juan Pablo Montoya in the final laps?
“We were racing hard. Every position counts. We were running hard, but I didn’t want to blow our good finish away. We raced hard, but eventually enough is enough and you just have to be smart out there. We had a really good car and it took off on restarts like no other. I started on the outside lane every single time. Besides that, we took off real good. Eventually everyone would just single-file out and get stuck where we’re at and we were just tight so you couldn’t pass anybody. You had to get them on the start or you were just kind of stuck there.” Where did your car work the best on the race track? “I would try to get them through the short chute – that was the best place for me. That way I could try to clear them before I get off to the big straightaway and try to keep some momentum going. That was kind of a big deal.
