I think I need to go down history lane prior to Isipingo Secondary , so that our community and younger ones understand this so here goes… We began primary school in a school called ‘Isipingo School” (State Aided) in Jadwat Road. I can still remember when RSA became a republic in 1961 and we were given a coke and a doughnut with the NP flag (not forgetting the apartheid that came with this!!). After Isipingo school which was surrounded by canefields, we then had to complete Standard 6 in Isipingo Beach in 1966/7. In 1968, we moved to Primrose (currently Primary school in Saunders Avenue). We completed half of Std 8 at Primrose and once the ‘new’ Isipingo Secondary was completed, we then moved to now what is known as Isipingo Secondary to complete the second half of Std 8 in 1968 (I think it was around this time).
