What was involved in the 2008 Partners in Preservation initiative?
The 2008 Partners in Preservation initiative focused on New Orleans in honor of the city’s restoration and redevelopment efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The city was selected as a top priority to support preservation and recovery efforts to ensure the survival of the area’s rich cultural assets and heritage tourism. Five historic sites in areas affected by Katrina were selected as grant recipients of the $400,000 that American Express committed to this effort in partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
