What was Indias colonial experience under British rule?
Hello, It depends who you talk to from there. The Sikh community here tells me they felt better off under the British rule than under the corrupt Ghandi Dynasty. Other people say it was bad and good. Sure, like all empires there were problems, injustices, rascism, atrocities, poverty and all but on the other hand great infrastuctures were built from the great civil service to one of the biggest, busiest railroad systems in the world, not to mention the educational system and India left with the English language (business language) and has a huge percentage of the world’s English speakers not to mention stamping out the Thugee cult that had killed tens of thousands by the mid 19th century. Well I’ve never totally suscribed to this ” Evil Galatic Empire ” attitude. Along with empires do come benefits and some unification as well that are often forgotten about.
