What was important about the shift to the use of systematic agriculture in the neolithic period?
Systematic agriculture yielded better yields of crops. Because of the better yield of crops, food no longer became scarce. People could live in the same place for the rest of their lives and never again live nomadic lifestyles. Because of the abolition of nomadic lifestyles, people could now settle in cities. Cities, especially those built in trade routes, will yield better foreign influence. Foreign influence meant that people can now share knowledge about to do things better. Put simply, the sciences and civillization, for that matter, flourished because of systematic agriculture.
