What was George Washingtons greatest accomplishment as a child?
Sadly to say, very little is known of George Washington’s childhood. What we do know is mere legend and folklore ment by early Americal historians to fill in the gaps of our Founding Father. Early American historians, who knew little of Wasington’s obscure upbringing, filled the first U.S. history books with innacurate stories and fabled facts they simply made up or did not know. Unfortunatly, these legends and mere lies still exisits as facts in schools today. For instance, the legendary cherry tree incident and a young Washington’s inability to tell lies, of course, sprang from the tales of Parson Weems. But what we do know for fact is that George Washington’s father died when he was 11 years old and was raised by his older brother Lawerence in whom Washington most certainly sought to emulate and treated as his father.(S.
