What was Communism?
Communism – what in the world is that? NO doubt you’ve heard about it before, but many people are still unclear about what communism REALLY means. Communism is an ideology developed by a German thinker called Karl Marx. At that time, most of the people, made up by peasants and workers, in his native homeland were oppressed by the aristocrats. Naturally, this led to him creating the communist theory. Marx believed that the Capitalists – the rich guys, ruled over the rest of the population. Communism was the theory that workers would take over the country with a government that truly represented the people. All people in the state would be equal and there would be no classes. Everyone would work for the good of the country and wealth would be equally shared amongst all citizens.
