What volleyball position would be the best for me?
I’m constantly amazed that people think short players should be setters. A lot of teams run a 5-1 offense, which means that the setter is a front row player half of the time. Not only is she front row, but she has to set the block against the opponent’s best hitter. A tall setter is better able to dump or attack on the second hit. My setter on my high school JV team is 5’8″, the second tallest on the team. My backup setter is 5’7″. A 5’0″ player can’t play in the front row. That leaves you as a defensive specialist, which frequently plays libero. To make the team as a defensive specialist, you have to be a great passer.
