What visa do I need to study at GenkiJACS?
A. Many countries have a visa waiver arrangement with Japan, allowing you to visit for a certain period (usually, 3 or 6 months) to learn Japanese without any visa at all. A list of countries is available on the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. In addition, you can study with us for up to three months (in some cases, six months) on a standard tourist visa. It is possible to renew tourist visas, either from within Japan, or by visiting Korea (a short boat ride away). No special student visa is required, even for full-time study. We recommend a Working Holiday visa for students from supported countries. More information is available here.
