What video format does KONAN DigitalArc Suite use to archive videos?
KONAN DigitalArc Suite encodes videos in MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and/or MPEG-4 format according to the archiving purposes and stores, manages and searches these contents. If a TV station needs to archive high quality videos in 50 Mbps high re-solutions only, due to limited system resources, only a few users can use the system simultaneously. Our system, to prevent the problem, encodes videos both in MPEG-2 high resolutions and in MPEG-1 or MPEG-4 low resolutions at the same time. The high-resolution videos are to produce, edit and transmit in integration with broadcasting systems, and the low-resolution videos are to search and preview videos for many users. For Internet broadcasting, due to the network bandwidth limit, it is recommended that our users encode videos in MPEG-4 low resolutions with less than 1 Mbps to provide VOD service.
