What video card will support an external 30″ monitor at 2580×1600 resolution?
I need a laptop with a video card that supports an external 30″ monitor at 2560×1600 resolution? The laptop needs to have an HDMI or dual-link DVI port, but I am not asking about the laptop now, just about the video card. Once I know the basic (worst) card (laptop video card) to run that resolution I’ll just start shopping for laptop (with that card or a better one). From my searches I found out that the 8600M GT (512MB) runs with no problems, but I wasn’t able to check on other cards (via google search) like on the 9300M GS (256MB) or 8600M GS (256MB). Nobody writes down the external resolution one card can handle, not even on Nvidia site. When I say handle I mean like display full 2560×1600 with no delays, full 32b color and smooth windows movement or text/image scrolling. I will mainly use office programs and light photo editing software, nothing too heavy, no games at all. Scrolling on a heavy web page shouldn’t take much (compared to 3D games) but since there is no way to test it
