The code is written to conform to the published DECnet phase IV specifications and so should work with any Phase IV node – this means VMS 4.0 and above should work. In practice I am limited in the versions of VMS available to me. Tramp (the machine in the picture on the web page) runs VMS V5.4 and (thanks to the hobbyist programme) I also have a machine running V7.2 which I use for most of my testing. I reckon that anything above 5.0 should be fine – if anyone has any reports (good or bad) of this software with VMS V4.x I would be interested to know. I have only tested this against VAXes running VMS but I see no reason why Alpha machines should have problems.
