The Motorola RG2200 is a TV box that takes digital signals from the cable provider and outputs video signals that you can route to your TV or other devices. It has both composite, S-Video, and RF outputs, so if you’re just manually recording programs, you should be able to use it with any VCR or DVD recorder. However, if you want automated operation, you’re going to have to look for a device that the Motorola box can control via it’s IR blaster. This means that you’d program the Motorola box to record a program, and then it would send record start/record stop signals to your recorder. The IR blaster would have to be provided by your cable company. I don’t know if your system supports the IR blaster at all. I had a Scientific Atlanta box a few years ago that supported this, but it only had codes for older VCRs. Your best bet may be getting a Tivo box to record programs. It can control the Motorola box to change channels and record the output. You can then save from the Tivo to your VCR/
