What User Choice services are Registered Training Organisations required to provide?
RTOs are required to negotiate with the employer and the apprentice/trainee about the structure and content of the training, mode of delivery, assessment methods relating to the qualification being delivered. This can be tailored to suit the needs of the employer. The RTO needs to conduct a skills assessment to identify competencies already held and those yet to be attained. Once the Training Plan has been completed and forwarded to the Apprenticentre, the RTO delivers, or arranges delivery of the structured training, which may be at the RTO, the workplace or a combination of both. Just as important, the RTO provides support and assistance to the apprentice/trainee and employer The RTO updates the Training Record Book regularly and undertakes or validates all assessments in accordance with the TPO. Once the employer has signed off all assessments, the RTO issues the certificate.
