What units are used in the measurement of energy?

Energy is also commonly measured in units called gram calories. One gram-calorie – usually spoken of simply as a calorie with a lower case ‘c’, is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of one gram of water from 14.5 degrees Celsius to 15.5 degrees Celsius.
