What underwater animal can sustain the most amount of water pressure?
A specimen of the 20cm long fish “Abyssobrotula galatheae”, of the family Ophidiidae, has been collected from the Puerto Rico Trench at a depth of 8,370m (27,455 feet). However, an unidentified specimen of sea cucumber (which despite its name is an animal) was taken from the Philippine Trench in 1951 at 10,190 meters (33,431 feet).
