What types of wood flooring are available?
There are three basic types. There is Unfinished solid hardwood, prefinished hardwood floors and laminate. The unfinished solid floors are installed and then sanded and finished on site. The prefinished hardwood floors can be solid (3/4″ thick) or engineered (made in layers). Both of these choices come from the factory already finished and ready to install. Laminate is a product designed to look like hardwood floors but is actually a computer generated image, finished with a plastic polymer coating.
