What types of uses and activities are subject to the Limestone Overlay District (LOD) regulations and what area of the county does the LOD cover?

0

Within the area designated as the LOD, and subject to certain exemptions discussed below, the LOD regulations apply to all land development applications, such as Zoning Map Amendments, Special Exceptions and Commission Permits. It also applies to all land disturbing activities including non-agricultural rural economy uses, new single-family development, preliminary subdivisions, family subdivisions, preliminary/record subdivisions, site plans, grading permits, construction plans and profiles, and any zoning/building permits that involve land disturbance. The LOD classification is for the area of the county generally north of Leesburg and east of the Catoctin Mountains which is underlain by limestone conglomerate bedrock.
