What types of topics are covered in the workshops?
Workshops primarily address two areas of interest: (1) using local produce and (2) gluten-free baking. For the produce-based workshops, they are organized seasonally. Some may be organized around a particular plant family (example: solanaceae or nightshade which includes tomatoes, potatoes, and eggplant). Then others are organized around produce from various plant families that marry well because they mature within the same season (example: potatoes, parsnips, shallots). For workshops that address gluten-free baking, there is a new world of ingredients, information, and techniques that are just exploding as more and more people adopt a gluten-conscious lifestyle. Since is it such a new idea to so many, some of these workshops are very basic (example: What’s the Deal with Gluten-free Flours?) to the more refined (example: Gluten-Free Breads at Home).
