What types of stories are acceptable?
Your story can be real or imaginary. The characters can be real or based on real people or imaginary things. Tell the story in such a way that you get your reader to really know the characters and believe that the story could happen, if not in the real world, then in an imaginary one. As you can see by the writing categories listed to the right that the GoodStoryADay stories can be extremely varied. You can write and submit any of the listed types of stories, but you are not restricted to them. See “Some Possible Types of Stories” to the right. How you tell the story is up to you. But it must have a beginning, a middle development, and an end that is the high point of the story, resolves the issues or problem addressed in the story, and emotionally ties the reader to a heroic main character. However, if it is a poem or a word picture, for example, then you may not have characters and a plot. You might have beautiful or exciting word images and sounds instead. What subjects can I write
