What types of snakes might use a hibernaculum in my neighbourhood?

0

Eastern garter, DeKays brown and Milk snakes are the most likely types of snakes that you will see in your neighbourhood. Are these snakes dangerous? No. There is only one venomous (poisonous) snake in Ontario – the protected Massasauga rattlesnake. Will building a hibernaculum attract more snakes to my yard? No. Building a hibernaculum will provide more habitat opportunities for the snakes that are already around your property and supported by the landscape. It will not attract additional snakes from other areas.
