What types of services does Simon School offer to hone grads interview skills?
Certainly we offer individual career advisement, which is delivered by our three-person professional placement staff. And there’s easy and open access. We have videotape practice interview sessions, which I feel is the most valuable program that we offer because I can actually see us having an impact on every student who goes through it. I’ve seen, over the years, top-quality candidates who have excellent credentials be beaten out for a high-paying job by somebody with lesser credentials solely because their interview skills weren’t as well developed. And that’s what I impress upon my students: Refine your interview style and technique. We also have a career education course here. It features career panels, international student job-search advice, and workshops on all of the major aspects of the job-search process, including interviewing, offer negotiations, and offer assessment.
