What types of services are provided through early intervention?
Early intervention services are designed to meet the developmental needs of the child and the family related to enhancing the childs development. These services include specially designed instruction to support the childs participation in appropriate preschool activities. Related and other supportive services may be provided in order to help the child to benefit from special education. Related services include: audiology, counseling, some medical services, occupational and physical therapy, speech and language services, orientation and mobility services, parent counseling and training, psychological services, recreation, rehabilitative counseling, school health services, social work, and/or transportation.
