The ideal sample is undiluted plasma in EDTA or Sodium Citrate anticoagulants (final concentration of 5mM). • e.g. Microtainer® Brand EDTA Tubes (250-500µL Fill volume) Serum is also a popular sample; however, clotting factors will not be present and therefore will not be measured in the MAP. Badly hemolyzed samples are not preferred because of the potential to alter the analyte pattern. Heparin plasma is not recommended.
