What types of research require ethical approval?
All research involving humans conducted within the NSW public health system must be ethically and scientifically reviewed in accordance with the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007). This includes, but is not limited to: • Clinical trials; • Clinical research; • Data linkage; • Epidemiological research; • Health services research; • Population health research; • Qualitative research; • Release of data; and • Tissue banking.
