What types of questions should students be prepared to answer during a UT interview?
Talk about your experiences and what you’ve learned from them. Can you tell me about a situation where you were up against all odds and it was a successful venture for you? On the flip side of that, can you give me a situation where things didn’t turn out the way you wanted them to? What did you learn from the experience as a result? I want to know about [applicants’] accomplishments and why they view them as such. I get to know a lot about people based on that one piece of information, in terms of how they’re thinking. I want to know about the opportunities [they’ve faced] and situations they’ve been in to develop their leadership skills, and maybe which situation in particular tested those skills to the max, and what skills were developed as a result of that particular situation.
