Fines: This is when the guilty criminal has to pay the government a fine as compensation for the crime – This is the most common punishment for small or petty crimes. 4. Community service: Community service is where the person convicted of crime has to serve the local community in ways such as removing graffiti, cleaning streets, and helping the young and elderly.
