What types of projects are developed for anime?
Anime is a storytelling medium, not a genre, therefore there is a highly diverse amount of content that has been developed in anime. Popular types of anime include sci-fi (especially those dealing with technology, robots, and space travel), fantasy (especially time-travel and average people transported into fantasy worlds), romantic comedies, mysteries, sports-themed series, and historical-themed stories. Anime projects are developed as a motion picture, a television series, or an OVA (also called OAV), which is a straight to video release (often four hours or less).
