Saint Joseph College offers both graduate and undergraduate programs in gerontology. The 18 credit undergraduate interdisciplinary program provides a certificate or an academic minor. This program is part of the Human Development/Family Studies Department and is a natural fit. Each contributing member of the department seeks to explore and enhance the lives of individuals and families across the life course. Gerontology is a life span perspective of healthy development of the whole person, regardless of age. The graduate certificate in Human Development/Gerontology is an 18 credit post-baccalaureate credential. The program provides an interdisciplinary approach to understanding aging as a process of life-long development.
