What types of premarital counseling options are there?

Rev. Bill Cochran: First of all I would suggest if you are part of a religious community, you should go to the leader of that community whether it’s pastor, priest, reverend, rabbi, whoever they might be and explain to them that you are preparing to get married. You would like some kind of pre-marriage counseling and hopefully they are prepared to offer that. If they are not at least they could reference someone or some place that they feel confident in you getting that type of counseling. If you don’t have that type of community behind you then there is always the World Wide Web. But I find more and more today brides and grooms are looking for references from friends, find out where they got their counseling or what they found out about that type of thing. So I would recommend that you talk to your friends, go to the web, go to the yellow pages, go to a bible show. Hope to meet someone there that could be of help to you.
